About Laura

Why I Chose Public Accounting

While in college, I worked for a metal fabrication company as their office manager. Originally I was hired as the receptionist, but the company was small and once they realized I could manage both their Quickbooks and the phones, I was on my own. Being a business administration major with little office or accounting experience, I figured out Quickbooks and appropriate office procedures through trial and error. Through it all, the one person I could count on to steer me in the right direction, to fix any tangle I created and to educate me kindly was our outside CPA. Before long I decided my ideal career would be to become a CPA myself, so that I could provide companies and individuals the reassurance and expertise the outside CPA always provided me.

Education and Experience

After graduating from California State University, San Bernardino with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, I began my career with a regional CPA firm. I remained with the firm for over fifteen years, serving a variety of clients with their financial accounting and income tax needs.   Additionally, I consulted with other CPA firms on an as needed basis.
